Help Install Not Working

Hay guys, i am trying to install the portal but i keep getting the following error

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/nextgen2/public_html/acp/jgs_install.php on line 883

I saw another post in this forum about this error here and followed the instructions, I have checked the file permissions and even re-uploaded all the files, yet still no change ;(

can anyone help???

Firstly its erroring on your Templates so make sure that the new Templates that are included in the /templates folder in the zip are located in you own /templates folder on your Server.

Make double sure that the /cache folder; /cache/templates; /cache/templates/acp folders have CHMOD rights as 0777 AND ALL THE FILES located in them.

re-upload the /acp/jgs_install.php file to your Server, overwritting the one thats already located on your Server and re-run the install.

If these have been checked and doublechecked, send me in a PM your Board ACP details and FTP details and I will check / install for you.

I'm still having the same problem. I installed the portal about 3 times now and it didn't work. I just give up because i'm tired to go through my database and delete all the table the portal install. thanks anyways. The gallery installed fine and it's working ok.

Why didn't you say something? I replyed to your post over 2 weeks ago and then herd nothing..... :(

Have you actually tryed "Manually" uploading the jgs_install.php to your server with FTP and trying again?

The Majority of these "unexpected T_STRING" Errors is because somewhere along the line, either by zipping or with CPanel, the file is getting currupt...hense the errors...

If you are still getting the errors, please send me FTP and ACP access to your Board (PM)

I as well have the same problem! On my german board I never had these problems befor and I did all the same way as on my german boards. Anyway:
Parse error: parse error in /srv/www/htdocs/web4/html/rw/forum/acp/jgs_install.php on line 883

Can u help me?

Ok, can you upload the attached "jgs_install.php" file to your server and overwrite the original...

Run the install again and let me know if its ok.!?

Hey cool, its working! :D The Installation sceen just showed up after upload
and using the jgs_install.php! The installation had been no problem anymore!
